Gametech Innovation Technical Lead

Gameloft · Engineering

  • Paris, IDF, France
  • Hybrid
  • Full-time
  • Posted Oct 9, 2026

WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON

The Gametech Innovation team builds the tools and systems Gameloft’s game teams work with, from AI in production pipelines to art pipeline optimisation across Unity and Unreal. We are looking for a Tech Lead to take technical ownership of that work as the team continues to grow its scope. You will be responsible for the architecture, establish quality standards, and work directly with the studios using the team’s solutions.

What it means on a daily basis

  • Evaluate new engine features, technologies and AI capabilities, then define the architecture and technology choices the team commits to across Unity and Unreal projects
  • Work closely on complex features and essential systems using C++ and C#
  • Own technical quality: coding standards, code reviews, build and release pipelines, and how AI is integrated into both our tools and our own development workflow
  • Mentor developers on architecture, design decisions and code quality, through reviews, pairing and technical discussion
  • Work with studios to understand what actually slows them down, turn that into feasible technical scopes and estimates, and flag technical risks early enough to do something about them

What success will look like

In the beginning, it means getting familiar with the codebases, connecting with the studios the team supports, and identifying the most urgent areas to address. As you settle in, you will have set the architecture direction for the team’s main projects and established how technical quality is held. Later on, the benchmark is straightforward: studios use the team’s tools every day, and the developers around you are making more effective technical choices without needing much guidance.

Who you would be working with

You will be reporting to our Gametech Innovation Manager, and collaborate very closely with other Developers from the Gametech Innovation team across multiple studios worldwide, including Paris, Montreal, Bucharest, and others, offering opportunities to collaborate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and perspectives. Day to day you will work with game programmers, technical artists and producers on Gameloft's game teams internationally.

Your recruitment journey

  • Recruitment interview: A conversation to explore how the role aligns with your background and to address your main questions.
  • HM interview: You will meet a Hiring Manager to discuss your experience, vision, and how you approach game technology topics at a broader level.
  • Test: You will receive a short case study to complete.
  • Tech interview: You will meet members of our technical team to present your test and talk through your approach, reasoning, and methodologies in more depth.

Where this role can take you

Over time, and depending on your interests and the team’s needs, this role can grow in two directions: towards people management as the team expands, or towards architecture and technical direction across our projects and studios. Training, mentorship and coaching programmes are available along the way, and Talent Move lets you look at internal opportunities elsewhere at Gameloft.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Advanced proficiency with Unreal Engine and/or Unity, including their editors and extensions, and solid proficiency in C++ and C#
  • Experience building and launching tools or systems that other teams relied on and kept using
  • Advanced debugging, profiling and performance optimisation across complex systems, together with the ability to write clean, maintainable and self-explanatory code
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD, build infrastructure and version control at scale
  • Practical use of AI in real development work, both as coding assistants in your own workflow and as services integrated into the tools you build

WHO YOU ARE

  • Curious: you enjoy digging into unfamiliar problems and exploring new engines, tools and approaches
  • Solution-driven: you turn ambiguous requests into workable technical paths and treat constraints as problems to solve
  • A mentor: you raise the technical level around you through code review, pairing and design discussion, and explain your reasoning clearly in English to technical and non-technical people alike
  • WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU
  • Benefits
  • Remote work: Up to 2 days per week, plus up to 1 month of full remote work from anywhere in France and up to 1 month abroad each year.
  • Access to Wellpass (formerly Gymlib)
  • Employee Savings Plan (PEG)
  • Standard benefits: meal vouchers, 50% reimbursement of public transportation costs (Navigo pass), and health insurance
