Blizzard has been a leader in entertainment for over 30 years, with millions of passionate fans globally. As our franchises expand into more realms, so too must our social reach, engagement, and conversation. We are seeking a candidate who will lead the release and growth of beloved Blizzard Titles: World of Warcraft®, Overwatch®, Diablo®, and other unannounced titles, that will captivate players globally.

Your Mission

As the Director, Campaign Creative Production at Blizzard, you will be the senior production leader for Brand & Creative Marketing across our franchises. In this role, you will report to the Senior Director, Brand & Creative Marketing and lead a team of producers and coordinators who turn brand and creative vision into executable production plans. You will make sure every franchise team is staffed, budgeted, and equipped to deliver integrated campaigns, from tentpole expansion launches and cinematics to experiential, live-action, OOH, BlizzCon, and more. You will set the strategic direction for campaign production, translating Brand & Creative objectives into departmental goals, standards, and budgets, and influencing senior leaders on matters of significance to the department. This is a leadership role first and a production expert role second.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate is a seasoned production leader who can shape team structure, processes, and ways of working while protecting quality and feasibility on every deliverable. They will own production budgets and vendor strategy for each franchise and grow the producers and coordinators who make it all happen.

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Set the strategic direction for campaign production across franchises, translating Brand & Creative objectives into departmental goals, action plans, and the guidelines and procedures that support them
  • Oversee the creative, operational, and strategic aspects of content production for Brand & Creative Marketing, ensuring each franchise team is staffed, budgeted, and equipped to deliver successfully
  • Build and develop the production team by managing and mentoring producers and coordinators, defining team roles, setting clear expectations, planning performance measurements that support departmental goals, providing timely and actionable feedback, and creating pathways for people to take on higher-scope, higher-seniority work
  • Ensure productions are staffed appropriately with directors, creative talent, and production teams
  • Establish production practices and standards, including standardized timelines, trackers, risk frameworks, and post-campaign retrospectives, so the team runs on repeatable, high-quality process
  • Partner with the Senior Director, the Creative pod, and Senior Brand Managers to drive leadership alignment, and clear cross-functional dependencies across PMM, MCP, BVID, Regional, Partnerships, Comms, and Development before they become risks
  • Own overall campaign production strategy, timeline, and delivery in partnership with franchise producers, and develop and manage departmental production budgets for senior leadership approval, directing planning, staffing, and expense priorities
  • Support cross-functional collaboration among creative, strategy, paid, social, PR, partnerships, and production teams
  • Oversee production of creative assets across video, digital, experiential, and occasionally social and integrated channels, including budgets and schedules across multiple projects and campaigns
  • Select and manage external production companies, directors, photographers, editors, and vendors; negotiate scopes of work, contracts, vendor agreements, and production costs; and serve as the senior point of contact for major studios and vendors
  • Identify and mitigate production risks, schedule conflicts, and budget challenges, and advise creative teams on production approach and feasibility so ideas are executed at the desired quality and within budget
  • Drive operational efficiency while maintaining high creative standards, including oversight of post-production, asset delivery, versioning, and distribution requirements
  • Ensure compliance with legal, licensing, talent, and usage requirements
  • Stay ahead of production market developments, emerging techniques, and the competitive landscape, and use them to evolve production methods, vendor strategy, and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people

Player Profile

  • Minimum Requirements:
  • 12+ years of experience in creative or marketing production, preferably in the video game industry or a related entertainment field, including large-scale, integrated campaigns, with a minimum of 4 years of direct supervisory experience
  • Proven track record delivering high-scope production across A/V and cinematics, physical production, live-action, experiential, key art, OOH, and the other core pieces of a robust 360 campaign for AAA brands
  • Deep expertise in production planning, budgeting, and scheduling across multiple concurrent projects, with strong command of financial and vendor management processes
  • Demonstrated experience selecting, negotiating with, and managing external production companies, directors, and craft vendors
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and inspire across global, cross-functional teams
  • Strong judgment and operational rigor, with the ability to set strategy, operate with limited directional guidance, identify and mitigate production risk, and advise creative leadership on feasibility
  • General understanding of all areas of the company's business and functional groups, with working knowledge of the relationships and partnerships that drive integrated campaigns

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience building or scaling a production function, pipeline, or partner/agency operating model
  • A passion for gaming and gaming culture, with a strong understanding of current industry trends, player behavior, and product life cycles
  • In-depth knowledge of Blizzard games
